September - 2 - Monday - Holiday - Building Closed
 
September - 4 - Wednesday - Public Bog Walk -
Guided walks in the bog are held each Wednesday through September 11 and will begin at 10 a.m. Public walks are open to anyone, while private walks for organizations and school groups are scheduled on request. Meet at the Bog parking lot. Cost: $6/non-member, $4/EE Center or Nature Conservancy members and children under 12.  Please wear appropriate footwear.  Each walk lasts approximately 2 1/2 hours and explores the floating boardwalk and surrounding area. Pre-registration is required for all walks. Directions:  Route 611, at the light at the Tannersville Inn turn onto Cherry Lane Road.  The parking lot is 1.9 miles on your right from Route 611.
 
September - 6 - Friday - DWGNRA’s Hemlock Pond Hike
- The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area offers some of the best hiking opportunities in our region.  Join Environmental Educator Brian Hardiman for this four mile round-trip hike to Hemlock Pond, a beautiful jewel tucked away high on the Kittatinny Ridge and surrounded by a hemlock forest.  While sitting on the shores of this isolated pond we’ll enjoy our lunch while soaking in the Canadian-like setting.  Meet at MCEEC at 8:30 a.m. and return at 4 p.m.; Cost: $20/non-member, $14/EE Center member, and includes van transportation. Participants should pack lunch and water, and be prepared to hike over rocky, uneven terrain.  Pre-registration and payment are required and limited. Refunds will be given only if notification is made at least one week in advance.
 
September - 7 - Saturday - Hike to the Top
– A discovery hike to the top of the unnamed ridge across the road from the EE Center building from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. These seldom used trails offer opportunities to see undisturbed wildlife, a huge glacial erratic boulder and do some off-trail exploring in search of clear view from the top. The hike is not strenuous but steep in spots, we’ll take it easy. Wear proper hiking shoes or boots, bring water and a snack. Cost: $5/non-members, $3/children under 12. All EE Center members are free.

September - 7 - Saturday - Art Opening: Patricia Eckley - painter - “Back Roads and Backyards” - A kaleidoscope of nature, displaying three different styles of painting by three generations of the Eckley family. Some paintings are local scenery and known landmarks! Opening Reception: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
 
September - 8 - Sunday - Public Bog Walk -
An end of summer walk highlighting the last few flowers of the year. Join an Environmental Educator for a 2 1/2 hour walk as we explore the bog.  Meet at the Bog parking lot by 1 p.m.  Pre-registration is required by Saturday, September 7Cost: $6/non-member, $4/EE Center or Nature Conservancy member and children under 12. Directions:  Route 611, at the light at the Tannersville Inn turn onto Cherry Lane Road.  The parking lot is 1.9 miles on your right from Route 611.

September - 14 - Saturday - Fields of Fun
– The fields of late summer are a blaze in goldenrod and a buzz with insects. Join Environmental Educator Darryl Speicher at 10 a.m. as he explores the fields of the Kettle Creek Wildlife Sanctuary. Cost: $5/non-members, $3/children under 12. All EE Center members are free.

Join an Environmental Educator as we explore the bog during a full moon.  Meet at the Bog parking lot by 6:30 p.m. for this 2 1/2 hour walk and bring a flashlight.  Pre-registration is required. Cost: $6/non-member, $4/EE Center or Nature Conservancy member and children under 12.
