A woman working at the Osterhout Free Library was sexually assaulted by a man just before noon on Thursday. The woman told investigators that Leon Crosby, 26, asked her about where he could find mystery books. She told him to ask someone at the front of the library. The woman says Crosby knelt down on the floor as to tie his show but then allegedly attacked her. Crosby fled the library through a back door and was captured by police two blocks away on South Main Street. Crosby told Eyewitness News that he has mental illness and is a drug addict. People who were inside the library at the time were stunned. Martha said, "I heard her screaming and screaming. She screamed for two or three minutes and everybody went running to the back of the library." Linda McMillian was at the library with her four grandchildren when the attack happened. She said, "I can't imagine this with all these kids around. I'm glad they got it under control." The Executive Director of the Osterhout Free Library, Rick Miller, released a statement saying their thoughts go out to the employee who was attacked and that they are always reviewing their security measures. Crosby is locked up unable to post $100,000 bail.
