Wilkes-Barre Fire Chief: Smoking Cause of Motel Fire

Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County-Firefighters in Wilkes-Barre were called to the Travel Lodge due to a 3 alarm fire.

The call came in around 8am Sunday at the Travel Lodge on Kidder Street.

The fire was under control around 8:45 this morning.

Noone was injured in the fire.

According to the Wilkes-Barre Fire chief, over a dozen tenants were affected by the fire.

Everyone was evacuated from the building and made it out okay.

The motel has since reopened here in Luzerne County.

The fire has been ruled accidental by Captain Alan Klapat.
