South Williamsport, Lycoming County -- Wow, just wow, my eyes lit up, wow." Australia's Manager Brian Armstrong described Lamade Stadium in South Williamsport on Saturday. His Little League team arrived in the middle of the night. Daybreak gave them a chance to take it all in, the sight of the Little League World Series. "They're pumped, they are truly pumped. They are ready to go. They have not had much sleep, it was a fairly long flight and you would not know it. They are just ready to go," said Mr. Armstrong.

Australian infielders Matt Coleman and Javier Pelkonen hope to keep winning games on this, a much bigger stage. "It was fantastic. I have always wanted to come here my whole baseball career. And when I saw it I was amazed at how good the field looked," said Pelkonen. Coleman, who plays first base, added "I was just amazed. It has been a dream of mine to come here. It is a dream come true."

Even as the finishing touches are made around the complex and down on the field, the Australian National Champs, now in their new uniforms, appear ready for the moment. Are they more nervous or excited? "Probably a little nervous because we will play in front of a gigantic crowd," said Pelkonen who plays third base. Mr. Armstrong added, "They work hard, they play hard, they just have an all around game."

Just like last year's Australian Champs, this year's team is from the city of Perth. And this year's manager says he got some good advice from last year's manager on how to navigate the series and win games on the field. "Soak it up, soak it up, that is what he said," said Mr. Armstrong. Some good advice as they prepare to play in the 75th Annual Little League World Series.

Little League World Series action gets underway Thursday, August 14th. The championship game will be played on Sunday, August 24th at Little League headquarters in South Williamsport.
