Tapping to the beat

HONESDALE, WAYNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) - A little rain wasn't going to dampen spirits Saturday in Honesdale!

Eyewitness News stopped by the 12th annual "Honesdale Roots and Rhythm Music and Arts Festival".

Thousands of families came out to enjoy free live music and art presentations.  Sculptures, painting and hand crafted clothing were on display.

There were also fun activities for people of all ages to try, like riding in a hot air balloon!  Musicians performed a variety of genres, including blues, jazz and rock.

"We have families that plan their reunions around Roots and Rhythm.  I've got a couple that ride their harleys in from Canada.  I haven't seen them yet today but they are here every single year!  So people plan their summer's around the kickoff of roots and rhythm" says Brian Fulp.

All volunteers made today's event possible, local businesses also pitched in.
