Stroudsburg celebrates St. Patrick's Day

A green day in Stroudsburg.

STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOUTV) -- Today was the 41st annual Saint Patrick's Day Parade in Stroudsburg.

'Twas the day after St. Patrick's and all through the streets people gathered in Stroudsburg for a holiday treat.

You could say that for some, this was their Pot of Gold.

"We're all looking forward to a great parade today," AJ McCann said.

Bust most were just glad not to be braving the cold.

"It's really warm-out, the sun's warm, a lot of people are out really enjoying this," Amy walker said.

Through the honking of horns and the marching of feet...some danced to the music others provided a beat.

"My son is in the marching the marching band-Stroudsburg High School. He's the drummer," Susan Shen said.

On floats, on bikers, on businesses and bands.

For the happy onlookers all clapping their hands.

With the noise and excitement, it was all fine and dandy.

But as many kids told me the best part, "When we throw the candy!"

So now as this weekend has all but one away, one more time, we're wishing you a Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Aside from all the fun, everyone marching got their exercise in for the day!

The parade route went through Stroudsburg and ended in East Stroudsburg spanning nearly two miles between towns.
