  This is the first official day of high school fall sports practices.  Every 25 seconds a  youth athlete suffers an injury that sends them to the emergency room.  Concussions account for 12 of those visits.  Concussions are becoming increasingly common in athletes.  Coaches and adults are educating themselves on the concussion warning signs to better help young athletes, and keep them safe.  It is also critical that student athletes keep hydrated with plenty of water or sports drinks.
