Crews search for missing woman in Monroe County

EAST STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) -- It was a late night for rescue workers in the Poconos.  They are desperately looking for Iwona Ciezza.

State Police said the 53-year-old went missing Friday after she walked away from Milford Manor, an assisted living facility in East Stroudsburg.

Her stepdaughter Rosa Hernandez said Ciezza has schizophrenia and may not have her medication.

Hernandez said the past five days have been painful, wondering if her stepmother is safe and answering tough questions from her kids about Ciezza's disappearance.

Ken Porter with Northeast Search and Rescue teamed up with law enforcement and other organizations.  They set up a staging area at the old K-Mart in East Stroudsburg, using K-9s on the ground and a helicopter in the sky.

Ciezza is described as 5' 2", 95 pounds with brown/gray hair and brown eyes.  She was wearing a blue sweater and black vest with leggings and sneakers.

Anyone with information is asked to call 9-1-1.
