The first recall involves more than 130,000 highlander hybrid, model years 2006 through 2010.
And Lexus RX-400h vehicles, model years 2006 through 2008.
Transistors in the hybrid system's inverter assembly can experience heat damage.
If this happens, warning lights will illuminate and the hybrid system could shut down, causing the vehicle to stop while it is being driven.
Owners of these vehicles will be notified by mail.
Additionally, Lexus models I-S 350, I-S 350-C and G-S 350 are being recalled.
Bolts that secure the variable valve timing control device can become lose, causing the vehicle to stop while being driven.
