Pharmacist Facing Drug Theft Charges

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) A Lackawanna County pharmacist  is facing a number of charges after he is caught giving a customer controlled substances without a prescription..


    In court documents Police say Keith Carson  told them he new they would eventually catch up with him.
     According to arrest papers- Carson, who is a pharmacist at the Rite Aid Pharmacy on Washington Avenue in Scranton, gave out oxycodone, and other  drugs to a customer. That customer did not have  prescriptions.
   

At times the pills he gave to the man numbered in the hundreds. 

      Carson told police, he took steps to hide the empty bottles and adjust a pharmacy log book to make inventory.
