"I'm looking for things for my granddaughters. They live in Richmond and Colorado and I thought I would send them a piece of Rochester," Jan Haefner said.
"I was told; we were out in the kitchen this morning and they told us it was 50 percent off so I was like 'it's a pretty good deal.' I'll take advantage of it because I came out earlier in the week and it's pretty expensive," Ryan Vanhoover said.
When the doors opened Monday, Nike merchandise was already gone.
"We talked a lot this week about Tiger and Rory and their scripting shirts, which we sold 1,500 of," PGA merchandising director Michael Quirk said.
Nike was not the only product at the merchandise tent this week. Women's Apparel and Outerwear were among other popular items.
"We ordered a few time and outwear across the board; men's, women's and for about three to four hours, umbrellas and ponchos, so we were very successful," Quirk said.
During the PGA Champonship, there were 40 registers, more than 450 volunteers and 80,000 transactions all in one tent.
"As far as sales, our best total sales in seven years is the PGA Championship so the people in the Rochester area fully embraced the merchandise," he said.
So what happens to the leftover inventory?
"Our vendors that supply the product will actually take the product back after the end of today and then they will kind of liquidate internally," Quirk said.
