Wyoming, Luzerne County-The Pennsylvania State Police are facing a discrimination lawsuit.

The U.S Department of Justice claims the hiring process is unfair to women.

The U.S. Department of Justice began looking into The Cadet Physical Fitness Standards in July 2009.

Now, a lawsuit against the P.S.P. states their female hiring practices are unfair citing specifically the physical readiness test which all aspiring troops are required to pass.

That test consists of pushups, jumps, and timed runs.

State Police Commissioner Frank Noonan fired back at The Department of Justice saying they will fight the accusations.
