Lackawanna County- More than 300 runners laced up their sneakers and headed out on a nice day for a run in rural Lackawanna County. They raced through several neighborhoods today in Roaring Brook Township for the 4th annual Saint Eulalia's 5k run/walk. The 3-point-1 mile route attracted children and adults and something different this year for the first time. The 5-k race welcomed a canine division. Jerry Mahon's 12-year-old pet, Shelby, was one of the dogs to capture a medal.
"Shelby won first place in her division. She's going to be 13 in November. She runs six days a week with my wife and i and she ran the race today in 25 minutes." The 5-k race is part of Saint Eulalia's summer festival. All of the money raised benefits the parish in Roaring Brook Township.
