No Prison Time for Bus Company Owner

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU-TV) The owner of a Lackawanna County School bus company has avoided prison after failing to pay taxes.

A federal judge sentenced Michael Runco of Olyphant  Thursday morning to eight months home confinement.

As owner of runco transportation  the 57-year-old admitted not paying employment taxes for several employees.

Runco used to have the busing contract for the mid valley school district.

His attorney says he needed the money  roughly $80,000-  because fuel prices skyrocketed.
