Eyewitness News spoke to the President of Lackawanna College, Mark Volk, who confirms that officials expect to buy the city's largest office complex, Adams Plaza.
Volk tells us, part of the college's job is to support local businesses and feels this purchase will be a great part of their expansion.
Just doors away sits Christian Pilosi's business, Eden a Vegan Cafe.
"We actually had thoughts of closing earlier this year in January" Pilosi told Eyewitness News.
"Now things are growing downtown. We're actually talking to a franchise development group to possibly grow Eden in that way. We just couldn't be more excited."
More college activity along the street may bring more students into the cafe.
Lackawanna College expects to close on the property by mid August.
It will be a few years until renovations are complete.
