Monroe County Authorities Honored

Recognized for work during Ron Gorman case

STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) - Four people were recognized Thursday for their outstanding work to put a well-known child predator behind bars.

The Monroe County District Attorney's Office awarded two state troopers, a victim services representative, and an assistant district attorney for their efforts during the Ron Gorman case.

Last month, the former Stroudsburg youth wrestling coach was sentenced to spend 20-40 years in prison for sexually assaulting at least two youth wrestlers.

"But, today is a day where I can breathe in a sigh of relief and take some time to recognize people who helped make our world a safer place to be," explains David Christine, Monroe County District Attorney.

Ron Gorman plead guilty last November after facing more than 500 criminal charges.

Trooper Brian Noll, Trooper Brian Janoski, Assistant District Attorney Julieane Fry and Victim Services representative Melissa Ackerman received special plaques.
