Luzerne County Woman Charged With Stabbing

Swoyersville, Luzerne County- Shickshinny woman was is arraigned on assault charges Tuesday morning for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend Monday night. 

Kingston police say 29-year-old Heather Muchler stabbed Jens Brandenstein during a fight.

According to court documents the couple, along with another man, were driving along Hoyt Street in Pringle when they began fighting.

Investigators say Muchler pulled a knife from her purse and stabbed the man in the stomach.

Muchler told Eyewitness News she is sorry for what she did as she was led to jail Tuesday morning in Swoyersville.

"I defended myself from getting beat up by my boyfriend for the third time in two years.  I regret stabbing him.  I should have got out of the car and ran.''

The victim, Brandenstein is reportedly in stable condition after undergoing surgery.
