Lewisburg,  Union County-
"Being told you're one of the best high schools in the nation... is a good way to start the school year." Beamed David Himes the Principal of Lewisburg Area High School

"We anticipated we'd make the list but never that high." added Principal Himes.
Lewisburg Area High School is still reeling after learning they've made the Daily Beast's list of the top 300 high schools in the U-S.

The Daily Beast -- a News Website -- compares high schools each year.
Using graduation rate.. college acceptance rates... as well as A-C-T and S-A-T scores.
More than a thousand high schools compete...

"We are competing with some of the top schools in the country which are private, some are charter schools many are magnet schools so its nice we can compete with that group of high quality institutions." noted Principal Himes
Lewisburg High School officials say making the top 300 is a very proud achievement  and not only for their current students... who are extremely proud...but for alumni and the community.
