LCTA Grand Jury Probe Intensifies As Managers Testify

The I-Team has confirmed from sources close to the case that 12 more LCTA employees testified before the statewide investigating grand jury in Harrisburg. The State Attorney General's office is looking into allegations that LCTA managers told bus drivers to pad ridership numbers.  Those numbers are used to help calculate levels of state and federal funding... Here is a breakdown of those who testified ..

  • Managers- 4
  • Bus drivers-5
  • Mechanics- 2
  • Former lcta board member- 1

One of the drivers who testified in December showed us the subpoena he received.. Another bus driver who was not subpoena but is cooperating with state investigators told Eyewitness News..They were following orders under the threat of being laid off and having families they did what they were told.


PENNDot has also pulled some $3 million dollars in funding for the LCTA after it reviewed the ridership numbers and say those numbers simply don't add up. luzerne County Council is withholding $300,000 in county money in light of ghost rider investigation.
LCTA maintains it did nothing wrong.
