Laceyville Police Officer Reinstated; Gets 6 Months Probation

Update: A Police Officer in Wyoming County who was suspended after he was accused of selling a rifle in a mini-mart parking lot, has been reinstated..

Laceyville Borough Council made the announcement about police officer Matthew Chamberlain tonight.

Last month, he was allegedly involved in the sale of a semi-automatic rifle in the parking lot of the Wyalusing Dandy Mart.

Chamberlain will now be put on probation for six months.

- A Wyoming County Community is delaying its decision on the future of a suspended police officer.

Laceyville Borough Council was expected to act on June 19th on the employment status of officer Matthew Chamberlain.

However, council decided to table the issue until its July 1st meeting.

Chamberlain is accused of selling a semi-automatic rifle June 12th in Wyalusing at a Mini-Mart parking lot.

Wyalusing Rocket-Courier Newspaper submitted these photos to Eyewitness News that appear to show Chamberlain and two other men examining an AK-47.

Chamberlain has reportedly been a Laceyville Police Officer for two years.
