Accused of trying to kill herself and two children

WILKES BARRE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) - A Luzerne County judge has refused to dismiss attempted homicide charges filed against A 32 year old Wilkes-Barre woman.

Melissa Ann Scholl is accused of trying to kill herself along with her two children using carbon monoxide in December, 2015..

The bus driver, Robert Shinal,  saw a hose coming from the gas tank of the car and going in through the driver's side window that was cracked open.

Shinal proceeded to open the car door and Scholl told him that she can't handle being a single mother. Shinal made sure the children were safe and called police. Scholl has two other children who were not with her at the

Earlier this year Scholl's attorney sought to have the charges dismissed, arguing the Commonwealth has no proof the mother was trying to kill herself and that critical evidence was missing, including the defendent's car which disappeared from an impound lot.
