Cosby to face retrial

Norristown, Montgomery County (WBRE-WYOU) -  Comedian Bill Cosby faced legal limbo for only a few minutes. Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele told reporters his intentions to seek a retrial."Our plan is to move this case forward as soon as possible."

Prosecutors say in 2004 Cosby attacked 44-year-old Andrea Constand. Court paper saying the incident happened inside the comedian suburban Philadelphia home.

Camille Cosby defended her husband. Through a statement she strenuously objected to roll some played in the first trial saying, "How do I describe the District Attorney? Heinously and (expletive) ambitious. How do I describe the judge? Overtly and arrogantly collaborating with the District Attorney. How do I describe the counsels for the accusers? Totally unethical. How do I describe many, but not all, general media? Blatantly vicious entities that continually disseminated intentional omissions of truths for the primary purpose of greedily selling sensationalism at the expense of a human life."

A sequestered jury from Allegheny County deliberated for six days after more than a week's worth of testimony.

Cosby did not testify. The charges accuse him of assault without consent, assaulting Constand when she was unconscious and assaulting her using drugs to impair her ability to consent. Each of the three charges carrying a maximum 10 year prison sentence.
