Wilkes-Barre Township, Luzerne County- Trash,TV's,  mattresses  and even old furniture are being dumped here on Casey Avenue in Wilkes-Barre Township --turning a lot into a junk yard.

Police say finding piles of garbage here is becoming a constant problem.
In just the past month - at least three different piles of junk have turned up - making an eye sore in the community .

"It's a blemish to the area and the people that have to live here... People that have to drive by to have to look at that every time they go by. It's just sad that people cant expose of their waste themselves rather then making it someone else's responsibility." said Sergeant Mark Hampton of the Wilkes-Barre Township Police Department.

Once the trash is dumped - the burden then falls on the property owner to clean up.
In this case , the owners of J-B Post paid close to a thousand dollars to clean up the mess on their property.
But police want those responsible to know - if caught you could be fined .

Sergeant Mark hampton says if your in need of disposing any old furniture - just call the township building and they can help ---for free.

If  you have any information on the illegal dumping give Wilkes-Barre Township Police a call.
