I-Team: Victim's mother reacts to attack suspect's arrest

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) -- It's a story our I-Team was first to report on.  A grown woman shoved a pre-teen to the ground outside of a convenience store in Wilkes-Barre.

Marlenea Uravage had nothing to say as police took her to the Luzerne County Prison, but that didn't stop her from smiling, even laughing, in the back of the van.

The I-Team was first to show you the surveillance video.  Uravage is accused of violently pushing a 12-year-old girl.

She was on the run for two-and-a-half weeks, but U.S. Marshals picked her up Thursday in Nanticoke.

"I did tell the U.S. Marshal who contacted me that he is our hero!" said the victim's mother Chere Fuller.

"It felt really awesome because I got to see someone who made me feel safe again and like I could be a child again!" said victim Presley Keeney.

At first, police told Eyewitness News that Uravage would likely face a summary citation for harassment, but Luzerne County District Attorney Stefanie Salavantis said Uravage is charged with simple assault, which is a second degree misdemeanor.
