BRIDGEWATER TWP., SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) - An investigation is underway into the alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old female student at Montrose Area High School.
The parents of alleged victim want answers. They want to know how the alleged sex crime could happen on school grounds. The I-Team's Andy Mehalshick went looking for answers today and has the details.
The father of the 14-year-old girl says she was sexually assaulted after track and field practice at Montrose Area High School Wednesday afternoon, and she told him it was not the first time.
"My daughter admitted there had been an assault in the school. We gathered information that it has been going on for sometime. The students had been left unattended for several weeks after practice," says the Father of the alleged victim.
We are not identifying the parents to protect their daughter's privacy, her mother say her daughter, who has developmental difficulties, broke down and cried last night and described in graphic detail, the alleged crimes.
"She informed me that for approximately two weeks he had not only been sexually assaulting her but also raped her in the school in a classroom on a couch," says the Mother of alleged victim.
She wants to know, where were school officials?
The Superintendent of schools told me she could not comment on the details of the case but did say, "We share the concerns of the parents of the young girl. These are very serious allegations and we are fully cooperating with the State Police. We will get to the truth."
Now it's not just school officials the parents are angry at, they're also critical of those investigating the alleged crimes.
