Hazle Township, Luzerne County- Agents for  the Public Utility Commission were out early this morning  in the Humboldt Industrial Park near  Hazleton.
They were stopping cabs to make sure they are properly licensed and insured.
The I-Team first told you about the crackdowns two weeks ago.
  Two drivers were cited today
Owners of legitimate cab companies say they are losing money as these illegal cabs are growing in number..
"We're fully licensed I pay $165,000 a year for insurance that's the big difference. We are in the city.  I pay mercantile tax license to community to do business in the city we pay property taxes business in the community should do that."  Said Lee Dotter- Owner of Motor Transportation in Hazleton.
The citations carry a fine of around $400 dollars and repeat offenders could face jail time. This P.U.C. Crackdown is not limited to the Hazleton area; it is taking place in other parts of Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania.
