Eastbound is currently closed to one-lane traffic using concrete barrier.
The work-zone speed limit is reduced to 55 MPH for the long-term traffic control on eastbound side of the highway.
Next week, westbound will still be restricted to one lane (using cones) during daylight hours only.
The contractor will continue construction of the crossovers and temporary ramps, and will continue building temporary pull-offs. A subcontractor will continue placing barrier and line painting in the temporary ramps and median areas. Motorists are strongly urged to pay attention to the changing traffic patterns. Pennsylvania State Police will be on-site to assist with traffic control during the placement of barrier; be aware of construction equipment and delivery trucks within the work zone.
Pending weather and workload, the crossovers will become live and westbound traffic will be directed into one lane on the eastbound side of the highway, with barrier separating the two-way traffic, one lane for each direction, starting Friday, May 16.
The work zone extends from just east of Exit 5 (Turbotville) to just west of Exit 10 (Muncy – Main Street).
