Eckley Miners Village, Luzerne County-History is coming to life during "Civil War Weekend".
The event is being held at "Eckley Miners' Village". Volunteers re-enact battles between Union and Confederate troops. Everything represents the life of a soldier in the 1800s, right down to the outfits, and music from the era. Eyewitness News talked to one man who has been taking part in enactments for 13 years, because of his interest in the time period.  "A love of history, and civil war history, and thought the uniforms looked pretty neat and you know carrying a musket, firing a musket, so it was very interesting." said Robert Slamp

The civil war reenactment continues Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm.
