Hair-Raising Roller Derby Fun

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU-TV)Supporting athletes through art.
That's the goal of a "hair-raising" fundraiser happening this weekend.
Eyewitness News Reporter Lauren Hensley spent the morning with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton "Roller Radicals" to learn more.

The Wilkes-Barre Scranton Roller Radicals are making themselves at home at their new practice venue in an old warehouse at the Cee-Kay Auto Complex.

The recently rented space is perfect for all the thrills and spills that come with the sport.

But playing in the league comes at a price.

That is why the team is hosting a Halloween themed flea market Saturday.

"The fundraiser is is going to help with this warehouse we just got. We are leasing it. It will also help with travel funds, you know, it wont be wasted. " Said Elyse Peterman, Assistant Coach.
Artists from near and far will showcase their best fall work.
And if the art doesn't get your heart-pounding--- the fast action in the rink will!

The team will take the rink starting at 5-- to show their stuff..
      A "spook--tacular" evening of thrills....

    And maybe some spills....

Admission to the flea market costs "two dollars."
If you want to stay all day to watch the athletes play.. it will cost you five dollars.
