The Knox Mine disaster marked the end of the end of deep coal mining across most of the Wyoming Valley.
In our region. A Northeastern, Pennsylvania native is trying to bring that story to the big screen. In this week's Generations of Energy ... David Brocca wants to tell the stories of the 81 miners who were trapped in that mine. He's the director of the feature length documentary, "Knox Mine Disaster." It focuses on that fateful day in 1959, when the Susquehanna River burst into an underground mine in Port Griffith. Brocca is hoping his movie will bring the piece of history beyond Luzerne County.  We'll have the full story on the "Knox Mine Disaster" Documentary Monday night. Tune in to Eyewitness News at 11 to find out more about how the project serves a warning as much as a history lesson to younger generations.
