A major trucking fleet that travels across the U.S. is gassing up on new technology in our area. In this week's "Generations of Energy" -- "Kane is Able" Trucking unveiled seven new trucks powered by compressed natural gas in Lackawanna County. The trucks are made by Volvo and are considered to be environmental ly friendly. The new big rigs are the latest innovation in the company's timeline, which dates back to antique trucks from the 1930's. Kane officials say the natural gas powered trucks are a valuable resource in the local energy industry.

Alex Stark, from  Kane is Able "Compressed natural gas has been out a bunch of years now, its usually run in the Southeast or Southwest where it is flat. Now they have better power, with new technology they can better pull in the terraine, we're very excited in conjunction with Marcellus Shale"

The trucks may create new job openings for mechanics with training to repair natural gas powered trucks.
