The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) are proud to announce that beginning on Sunday, July 6 the RailRiders will join the New York Yankees in support of HOPE (Helping Others Persevere and Excel) Week 2014, a unique week-long communal program that brings to light extraordinary stories intended to inspire individuals into action in their own communities.
As part of the Year of Learning and Focus on the Underground Railroad presented by Muncy Historical Society, the Blooming Grove Historical Society and James V. Brown Library will host Commonwealth Speaker Denise Valentine's presentation "Great Escapes" at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 12 in the Library's Lowry Room, 19 E. Fourth St.
