  Check out what's happening at the James V Brown Library during Little League World Series week.

  A very special heart survivor, tiny 2-year-old Vayda Evans of Old Forge, will represent all survivors as the child chair and lead off the 2014 Central Susquehanna Valley Heart Walk when it steps off at Knoebels Amusement Resort on Saturday, Sept. 13.

The Lackawanna Historical Society and Waverly Community House will present “Scars & Stripes: The Remarkable Story of Waverly’s Black Civil War Soldiers” on Sunday, September 21 at 2 p.m. at the Waverly Community House, 1115 N. Abington Road, Waverly.
