David Baker will spend one year on probation and pay a fine of more than $3,000 after being sentenced at the federal courthouse in Wilkes-Barre.
Late last year, Baker entered an Alford Guilty Plea to charges of making a false statement to the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development.
An "Alford Guilty Plea" is similar to a no contest plea. It means he did not admit guilt but said there was enough evidence against him.
In 2008, Baker was originally charged with a 16-count indictment which included charges of bribery and fraud. He was accused of misusing $300,000 in federal funding at the Park Gardens Apartment Complex in Scranton.
