Columbia County -A local business is celebrating a first of its kind "Fishtival" In Columbia County. The owner of "Wild for Salmon" in Bloomsburg is holding the event as a take on the celebrations happening in Alaska at the end of sockeye season.
The event held Saturday offered some great seafood samples and also gave attendees advice on the best ways to prepare fish at home through demonstrations.

Owner Steve Kurian, an avid fisherman himself, enjoys the opportunity to share his knowledge.  "Well my favorite to cook is sockeye salmon because that's what we catch in Bristol Bay. So when you're fishing for 8 weeks catching salmon you become very fond of it."

Carol Swarner of Lewisburg enjoyed Fishtival "I'm totally impressed. The samplings were delicious, everything we tasted was excellent "
This year's event was so successful that Kurian hopes to continue it next year in Columbia County.
