FBI: Tip Led To Probe Of Wilkes-Barre Employees Federal Credit Union Raid

The Director of the FBI office in Scranton says a tip from a citizen led them to investigate the Wilkes-Barre Employees Federal Credit Union- Agent Sean Quinn says, "We were working a separate corruption investigation when we got word of possible wrong doing connected to the Credit Union-" The FBI searched the office located in Wilkes-Barre City Hall Tuesday morning---Last Thursday they served a subpoena on the same office-- On Monday afternoon the longtime manager of the Credit Union, 50 year old Jim Payne,was found dead in his home--  The FBI will not confirm if Payne was the target of their investigation--    Attorney Dominick Pannunzio represents the Board of Directors of the Credit Union and was in the office collecting data and files for the FBI--He told Eyewitness News, "I quite frankly don't know what the FBI is looking for--we have found no evidence of wrong doing by anyone here--we want to reassure our clients that their money is safe and the funds are not in jeopardy-- We are cooperating 100 percent and fully with the FBI--"
