Jefferson Twp., Lackawanna County - Classes are starting back up, but some sports teams have already been on the field practicing for week, so the North Pocono School District in Lackawanna County is getting the whole community pumped for the fall sports season with a pep rally, pig roast, and bonfire.

Everyone was invited to a night filled with food, music, and fun that included dunking teachers and coaches.  Unlike your typical pep rally this one was for all students athletes regardless of whether they play football, volleyball, soccer, or cheer.

It's not just to boost spirits, money raised during fundraisers like this one goes back to the students. The President of North Pocono Booster Association Victor Benfatti says "the last three years we gave away $33,000 worth of student athlete scholarships and stuff like this helps us pay for it."

If you missed it, they are holding another pep rally at the high school Friday for their first football game against Western Wayne.  North Pocono School District doesn't start classes until Tuesday.
