Double Dues in One Northumberland County Town

Shamokin, Northumberland County- Drivers in Northumberland County may have to be more diligent about putting money in the meter.

Meters fines in Shamokin are about to double, going from 5 dollars to 10.

If they aren't paid within the first 48-hours, the fine will increase 2 dollars.

Anything left unpaid after 10 days will be filed as a citation with the district magistrate.

People who live in the area are frustrated over this.

A financial agency that's working with the city to cut down on its debt made the recommendation.
