Crash Slows Traffic Along I-81 in Scranton

Scranton, Lackawanna County- A crash brought traffic to a standstill on Interstate 81.
The driver of a tractor trailer told State Police somebody cut him off.
  It happened in Scranton, in the construction zone between the "Viewmont Mall" and "Clarks Summt" around 7 Friday morning.
  Investigators say the truck ripped out 130 feet of Guiderail, and left nearly seventy feet of skid marks.
   Troopers say it was a challenge to remove the wreckage.
I-81 was the scene of several crashes in the last two days.  
  Three crashes on one interstate caused major traffic headaches in Luzerne and Lackawanna counties.the latest crash happened on a ramp along interstate 81 in Pittston around 9:00 p-m Thursday night. Two tractor trailers collided on the ramp which caused it to close down. No injuries were reported.earlier in the day a dump truck had overturned a dump truck flipped in the southbounds lanes near Avoca. That crash stalled the busy morning commute closing both lanes for several hours.and during the afternoon rush hour three vehicles wrecked on interstate-81.
