Moosic, Lackawanna County -- Police in Lackawanna County nabbed two suspects accused of having about $7,000 in counterfeit cash.

Moosic Borough Police said 23-year-old Andres Parra and 31-year-old Yerif Rosario used counterfeit money at the Shoppes at Montage on Wednesday.

Police said the pair tried to pass off the counterfeit bills to at least nine retailers in Moosic.

Some of the stores gave the fake money back to the suspects, creating a domino effect in the shopping center.

Police said retailers need to educate their employees and update their policies.

If you think you received a counterfeit $100 bill, you're asked to call the Moosic Police Department.
