Children and Youth Services sued after allegedly putting child with convicted pedophile

YORK, YORK COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)- A federal lawsuit claims York County's Children and Youth Services put a boy in a home with a convicted pedophile.

The suit claims back in 2012, the county took the victim from his mother's home, and placed the child with Ronald Witmer of York. Back in August, Witmer pleaded guilty to abusing the now 13 year old.

In separate cases in 1989 and 1990, Witmer admitted to fondling a four year old boy and exposing himself to other children.

To make matters worse, Witmer has recently tested positive for HIV.
