Businesses reach out to those stranded in the storm

(WBRE/WYOU) - Businesses in our area lent a helping hand to those in need who were stranded by the storm on Friday night.

Mt. Airy casino resort opened its doors to stranded drivers.

While there weren't any rooms available, the staff welcomed them inside the resort and handed out blankets and cots to make them feel comfortable.

People slept just about anywhere you can imagine: in the nightclub, in lobbies and even poolside.

Over in Pike County, one restaurant owner opened the doors to help those who were stuck.

This is in Greentown, Pike County where the owner of "John's Italian Restaurant" let stranded drivers spend the night and even prepared them a meal.
