Rush Township, Schuylkill County -- The search is on for a bank robber in Schuylkill County.

Police said the same suspect may have attempted to rob another bank in Luzerne County on Tuesday.

Police said a man walked into the Mauch Chunk Trust Company in Rush Township, dove over the counter, and shouted, "You don't want to be locked in here with me!"

It's unclear if the robber was armed with a weapon, but he got away with an unknown amount of cash.

Police said the man took off in a Ford Explorer pick-up truck, and then got involved in a hit and run crash on Poplar Street in Hazleton.

A witness was able to get a license plate number, which came back as stolen.

State police used a helicopter to try and find the suspect.

Police said the same man may have attempted to rob another bank in Hazleton earlier in the day, but the suspect was unable to enter the FNCB Bank on West Broad Street.

Anyone with information on the robbery in Rush Township, or the attempted robbery in Hazleton, is asked to call 9-1-1.
