After a successful battle with cancer, a Columbia County couple hopes to inspire others.

MILLVILLE, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) – It’s never too late to follow your dreams.

A couple from Columbia County is taking that message to heart after a health scare changed their outlook on life.

For the past year, Rebecca hunter was battling breast cancer and fighting for her life.

After a strong and successful fight Rebecca Hunter is now ready to tour the country with her husband.

"A lot of people say oh I’ll wait until I retire to enjoy things and it was just so eye opening to me that you don't know how long you have.”

In 2016, Rebecca was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer, something that both she and her husband Robert didn't know how they were going to overcome.

"I said what if it's the end? It's like the hardest question I’ve ever had to ask in my life to someone who’s so spectacular and beautiful and such an inspiration to me" Robert said.

When Robert asked her what her wish was.

"I told him I want you to publish your crazy book and I want you to share your music and I’d like to see the country with you."

That's exactly what the relapse and revival tour is.

While many people are getting ready to celebrate the Easter holiday, Becky and Rob are preparing to hop inside their new RV to tour the continental U.S.

"She said I want you to go on the road I want you to see the whole country and I want to be there with you."

He will be playing his rock and roll album 'revival' on the tour as well as showcasing his new book 'relapse'..both inspired by Becky.

Sarah Trunzo is a songwriter and will be the opening artist for the first ten weeks of the tour.

"I think that when we're brave enough to tell our personal stories it tells other people who are hearing our songs or reading our books that they can have some bravery too."

Sarah says it's amazing to see how strong Becky is -- and she can't wait to explore the country with them.

"I think there's a lot that we don't know and that's like kind of the exciting part it's also the scary part."

Throughout the journey of fighting cancer, songwriting and publishing a book. This couple says, with faith, you can accomplish anything.

"Step by step I just went day by day and here we are cancer free and ready to inspire others" said Rebecca.

"Shes the kindest most tenacious girl I’ve ever met in my life. But if you find someone who is special then make it work" Robert said.

Rebecca tells me that they officially plan on starting their road trip as early as 6:30 or 7am tomorrow morning.

They're also bringing their dog Gracie along, because she says she wouldn't have been able to get through everything without her by her side.

West Chester, Pennsylvania will be the first stop on the "relapse and revival" tour, and the couple has hundreds of events planned through next march.
