65 big rig drivers cited during travel ban

PSP didn't give any of them a break

DUNMORE, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) - State troopers handed out more than 60 tickets  Wednesday to big rig drivers who violated a winter storm travel ban Wednesday, March 7th.

The PSP says drivers had been given prior notice of the ban from sign boards and media outlets throughout Pennsylvania and surrounding states.

One ticketed driver told Eyewitness News during the height of the storm that he wasn't aware of the restrictions, while another told us he had simply failed to check out the weather prediction for the area.

The citations, which were part of Governor Tom Wolf's declared State of Emergency, carry a $300 fine upon conviction.
