Old Forge, Lackawanna County-Police say DUI charges are pending for a weekend two-car crash that killed a boy in Lackawanna County.

Flowers are now placed at the scene along Keyser Avenue in Old Forge.

Police say 12-year-old Leonard Zupon, Jr. of Old Forge was a passenger in a car the night of August 30 that collided with a suspected drunk driver's SUV.

The child died at the hospital.

His father, Leonard Zupon, Sr. was critically injured.

Police say the other driver, 44-year-old David Turano of Carbondale, abandoned his SUV and ran from the scene, but they caught him within a short distance.

Turano was taken for a blood alcohol test and released.

Keyser Avenue from Oak Street to Sibley Avenue will be closed this morning from 7am until 10am for reconstruction of the scene.

Old Forge Police continue to investigate this crash in Lackawanna County.

Grief Counselors will be on hand today at All Saints Academy to help students, faculty, and staff cope with this difficult time.
