Buddy Check March 2012: "Cancer My Way"

Candice Adams is a Brodheadsville, Monroe County native who attended Wilkes University with Eyewitness News Anchor Kyla Campbell. Last year, Kyla took us to Candice's end of chemotherapy party and to the Susan G. Komen 3-Day walk in Washington, D.C. in September. Now, Candice is the focus of a documentary.

Candice wrote hundreds of letters to cancer. They're now compiled, along with interviews and candid photos, in a docuemntary titled, "Pink Kisses: Cancer My Way." Fellow member of the U.S. Air Force, Russ Scalf, followed her for nearly one year and put the five-part story together online.

It shows you how Candice dealt with chemotherapy, prepared for a bi-lateral mastectomy, and learned to celebrate life after cancer.

Candice's goal is also to spread the message on the importance of breast self-exams and getting mammograms.
