Zion Tamaqua hosts Cancer Survivor service June 24

To cap off the Relay for Life weekend in Tamaqua, Zion Lutheran Church is hosting a special Cancer Survivor/Caregiver worship service, Saturday, June 24 at 5:30 p.m.

Earlier in the day, members of Zion’s Outreach team will be distributing Prayer Shawls to survivors at the Relay for Life at Tamaqua Area’s Sports Stadium. The shawls are hand-made by Zion member Gwen Evans.

Communion will be offered at the service which features a blend of traditional and modern worship styles.

Cancer survivors, caregivers and all community members are welcome.

The food and fellowship time which normally follows a Saturday communion service has been moved to July 1 when Zion celebrates its 200th Saturday evening worship service. A covered dish indoor picnic is planned for that evening.

Again, the community is welcome to attend.
