(From Marie Harris, Major Corps Officer The Salvation Army-Lock Haven)

In 2012, The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign raised $42,542 in our community but due to Thanksgiving coming a week late this year our donations are down by $9,000.  We are in a crisis with only 8 more kettle days left . The need this year is at an all time high. We will be assisting 430 families and adults with food for their Christmas dinner and extras to get them through the holidays as the children are out of school for Christmas break. There are Christmas toys needed for hundreds of children who would not have something under their tree on Christmas morning.   Your support will ensure that The Salvation Army can continue to do the most good for those in need this holiday season and throughout the year. When you hear the bell ringing it's a reminder that there are children and adults who need your help!  You can find the kettles located at Kmart, Northwest Bank, Save A Lot, Calico Creek and Walmart. In addition Arby's, Aungst Family Restaurant,  Mill Hall Pharmacy, Restless Oaks Restaurant, and Uncle Joe's Woodshed accept donation in our counter kettle.   If you can't get out to our kettles you can also give a donation online at or mail your check to the Salvation Army 119 East Church St. Lock Haven, PA 17745.  For more information please call 570-748-2951.
