Hungarian gypsy band Romano Drom will perform on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 7:30 p.m. at the Campus Theatre, 413 Market St., in downtown Lewisburg.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. A dance class will be led by Stephen Kotansky from 6:45-7:15 p.m. on the Campus Theatre's mezzanine.

The dance class and world music performance are presented by the Weis Center for the Performing Arts at Bucknell University. Both are free and open to the public; tickets are not required.
Romano Drom's U.S. tour is made possible in part by the Trust for Mutual Understanding and presented in association with the Balassi Institute-Hungarian Cultural Center.

Romano Drom is one of the most prominent representatives of the contemporary Gypsy culture in Hungary. Romano Drom, meaning "Gypsy's road", plays in original Olah Gypsy language with modern scoring.
Although their original compositions are deeply rooted in the ancient Olah Gypsy music, they reach a wider audience by integrating the authentic gypsy melodies with influences from world music and several modern trends.
Their success lies in their unique fusion music that combines centuries-old musical culture with Catalan rumba, Arabic, Balkan and even pop rhythms.

In the musical arrangements, they utilize guitar, bass/double bass, as well as the traditional household items like pots, cans and spoons in order to achieve a unique and captivating sound that exudes the soul and passion of the Roma people.
